Online Store Fronts Bringing in the Consumer.

I think it’s hard to deny that the internet retail bug has had a huge influence on how consumers view their overall shopping experience. Cyber Monday, a relatively new term swept the world by storm when online sales surged following Black Friday in 2004. Although the history may be interesting to those who witnessed the phenomenon, the really interesting thing is that in the past few years, several businesses made a move to be fully online-based rather than traditional bricks-and-mortar businesses with an online affiliate.

Well, this is all pretty commonplace information at this point, but InternetRetailer outlines success seen in online retail from American Eagle Outfitters. The website for the retailer saw a 26% increase in online sales for the year 2008, an increase not seen by numerous comparable companies due the recession. Although total sales for American Eagle decreased slightly, the importance of the web-based drive in sales is an important factor which American Eagle CEO, Jim O’Donnell, acknowledged.

Online based stores have opened new paths and avenues for business ownership. ShopVisible client, ShopBags, is an online-based luggage and bag store without a bricks-and-mortar storefront. Ecommerce solutions have been seeing great success as more and more companies turn to SEO-based platforms to fuel internet sales. As eCommerce continues to be met with improvements, even during the difficult recession, companies will be turning more and more toward advancements in search tactics rather than paid search according to an article in Brafton.

ShopVisible is an eCommerce solution headquartered in Atlanta, GA.
